Business

The activity of socially organizing toward the accomplishment of a productive goal, usually for a profit. Also, an organization of people performing this activity.

EATS: Business is sometimes used as an adjective as a broad, generic classification to distinguish portions of the architecture with an application subject matter focus (in any field) away from portions of the architecture which provide technical infrastructure support. For example, a business layer, a business function, or a business service would be things that are intended to service or support particular application domain functions, rather than a technical (infrastructure) support activities like providing communications services, or providing database recovery services. See Business Information Domain.
