EATS: A distinct, separately targetable and separately managed software run unit implementing an instance of the EATS framework.
In more simple terms an Architected Service Facility is an instance of an EATS framework running as a targetable software system. Something which is capable of handling Architected Service requests in a meaningful way. Hypothetically more than one Architected Service Facility can execute on an Architected Node simultaneously, as long as each Architected Service Facility is capable of being separately addressable (and configurable) as an independent unit. The capabilities of any specific Architected Service Facility is a function of its configuration.
